  4. Since we are required to comment on the Hyundai commercial, hence let us begin!
    After watching the “cute and innocent” advertisements, I wondered how technology can be so advanced that it can so real! However, we all know that the advertisements are obviously animated or photoshop as in reality, infants can’t drive and the difference between animation and video taking is absolutely different. So, photoshop is one of gadgets used to make the advertisement more pleasant. Secondly, in the middle of the advertisement there is music/song played to enhance the atmosphere of the advertisement, so audio effects evidently plays a part in the advertisement.
    Colors! On the previous post, we were required to analyze advertisements using the techniques in terms of colours, size, language etc, so this is a just a similar analysis. Conspicuously, the colours used in the advertisements do tally with infants, like yellowish-golden, bright, such that it is a pleasant advertisement. Basically, the advertisement focuses mainly on the child driving the car. It emphasize on the physical dimensions of the car, using light to let viewers see the shine on the car, basically to attract attention. Most of the time, the advertisers increase looks of the gears of the car by focusing using the Camera. Creative languages are not really used in this advertisement as the advertisements focuses only on the car. “Drive your way” is one of the creative languages used in the advertisement. However, that is just the slogan for the brand. This is to indicate that the customer is like the boss of the car, whereby they tell the car what to do. Still, their motto is attracting attention to customers.
    The purpose of this video is to promote their new and functional car. They made use of infants so customers can not only watch the two adorable infants making love, they can also infer that the car is SO EASY TO DRIVE, that even babies at a young age, without a license can even drive. So adults without the media knowledge might think that the car is not only easy to drive but it looks big, classy and posh! It can even let a baby, who has no background knowledge of cars, trapped in a middle of the desert to be attracted by it, let alone an adult.
    After watching the video a few times, I think that he car is mostly intended for middle age MALE adults. Firstly, most of the middle age must have huge amounts of savings, given their years of work/having a career and most of them tend to be thrifty. So advertisers want to aim them into buying these cars by making it as convincing as possible. Secondly, most middle-age adults have no background media knowledge, so whatever they see is true to them! So they might think that it is easy to drive as well as it is functional. Thirdly, the reason why I say “males” is because most males tend to have a lot of pride, especially the Chinese. So they may buy big cars to show off their money or what they own to their friends/family.
    I think this video is trying to convey that the car is extremely easy to drive with since a baby can drive it so easily. Advertisers used bright colours to associate with babies, so viewers might feel happier, elated etc, as the characters are cute while smiling. However, I don’t think that the advertisement is all that effective as most viewers will just look at the baby as they are the main character. Probably about 30% of the viewers may actually take a good look at the car, whereas the rest are distracted by the infant making love and doing sorts of “stunts” like surfboarding, making love with the female infant. So I don’t think it looks convincing unless there is a narrator that speaks about the features of the car.

  5. 1) Probably a Movie Maker to add in audio into the clip taken. Photoshop might also be used to edit the certain portions of the video to show the baby driving the car. "http://bit.ly/u1tf" shows the numerous video editing software that can be used to edit videos.

    2)The colours used are bright and gives the commercial a happy mood. The size of the car when compared with the baby seems extremely huge and can be easily identified by the viewer. It will probably be the first thing the viewer will be able to see when it shows the baby driving the car. The start of the song used sounds very grand and could signify that the car looks very luxurious. The title of the song used for the commercial is "wayward wind" which shows that this commercial is trying to show something that is rebellious and powerful.

    3) The purpose of this video is to advertise the Hyundai Santa Fe so that they can get more people to purchase the car.

    4) This commercial is targeted at people traveling outdoors and beach-goers. The car is suitable to run smoothly on sand as shown in the above video. This commercial is targeted at parents. The man who was looking at the car when the baby was driving it shows jealousy on his face like he wanted to own that car himself. The car should also be very safe for children as it "can be driven even by babies". This commercial might also be intended for youths who just got their licence and wants to show off their skill. It can be used to pick-up their friends and also to show-off to other commuters on the road considering the large size of the car.

    5) I feel that the commercial is effective in showing the safety of the car and attract viewers to want to buy the car. In my opinion, this commercial shows rebellion and can make youths want to purchase the car but there are certain risks in making the advertisement the way it is. The baby driving the car can give an impression to babies who do not know much that they are eligible to drive cars around. If babies get hold of the key to a car, they might even attempt to drive it themselves and injure themselves eventually. Therefore, I feel that the video should not be seen by young children and toddlers as they might interpret the commercial wrongly.

    I think that the equipments used to produce this media are video editing softwares for editing the baby's actions as a baby is not very able-bodied at that age to climb out of bed, drive etc. Besides, audio effects can also be added by the video editing software and sequence of the babies' movements and the other people appearing in the video. The software edits the baby and the car by cropping the baby and it's movements into the scene, whereby the car drives. Photoshop is also used in this media to enhance the car, babies' appearance and the surroundings. The babies are virtual, and isn't real as their positions are unreal and they cannot do majority of the movements shown in the video.

    The tecniques used to produce this video are important, namely colours, sizes, songs and expressions of characters in the video.

    Colours
    Colours play as an important role. The colours of the surroundings are mostly bright and loud. It creates a lively and happy mood as it attracts more attention from the audiences as the colours are attractive and appealing. Audience also feel more comfortable upon watching the commercial. I can also say that the commericla excites the audience, creating a want-to-watch-again feeling for the audience. Towards the end of the video(0:57-1:00), the scene is at a beach, supposingly. The sunrays gives off a golden colour light, which is very cheerful. It also shines on the car, allowing the car surface to reflect the light and the words regarding the car(white in colour) is contrasting with the ground(brown in colour). It enables the audience to notice the words. In this scenario, the contrast effect is seen. However, if the colours are replaced by dull and dark colours, it might feel slightly unfriendly and apathetic. It looks much more serious too. Thus, dull colours aren't used, instead, the bright colours are made used of.

    Sizes
    Sizes? It sounds like a very minor, or not even important or a need for a commercial. Yet, it is. I only noticed the usage of this technique in the video at the last part of the video, when the two babies sit on the car. The size of the babies are reduced, to show the PRESENCE of the car. It wanted to emphasize the car, and the babies are not very important already as the main purpose of the commericial is to advertise the car. This is when the effect is used. Also, the words regarding the car is big enough to allow the audience to notice, so that the audience can take note of the main purpose of the advertisement, while enjoying the entertaining commercial.

    Songs
    Songs are oftenly used, or esle the commercial would be as boring as only looking at the animations moving around, with no music. That would be absolutely turn off, isn't it? In the commercial, a very cheerful, soothing piece of music is used. I also noticed that the lyrics synchronizes with the actions and animations of the baby. When the wind blows against the baby's hair, the song lyrics goes "its restless wind...a restless wind...". The song actually follows the pace of the commercial. This is pretty cool.

    Expressions and movements of the characters
    The expressions and movements of the characters are very useful in commercial. The baby looks very enlighted when he sees the car when he opens the door. He looks hyperactive when he climbs out of bed, swings the key and open the door. When he drives the car, he also look very delighted as if the car belongs to him. He gives a proud face when everybody is looking at him, as he waves to a baby behind an adult's back, trying to show off that the car is nice and easy to drive, even a baby is able to. Everyone esle is looking at the baby driving, puzzled. Even the baby behind the adult's back looked engrossed at the baby driving away. At the second part of the commercial, the girl gives a satisfied face as she is impressed with the boy and the car. Both of them lit up a smile on their faces, showing joyfulness.

    With all these techniques, the audience and you would be captivated by the commercial before you know it!

    The purpose of the video is just to advertise the car, with the effects of the characters in the commercial. In addition, with the help of the techniques, the audience would be persuaded to buy the car. The commercials are intended for small children and adults. When small children sees the commercials, they would ask their parents to buy the car as it looks fun in the commercial when the baby is driving. In the commercial, the baby gets off the car and started surfboarding, the girl then stays in the car looking at the boy. It shows the ecstasy, attracting small children. When adults get to see the commercial, it seems like it might enlighten their children. Therefore, they would buy the car. It is vice-versa. The values the commercial is conveying is that the car would bring everyone cheerfulness. The commercial is also showing that the car is very useful, as the video shows the car is driving fast compared to other cars(0:16-0:20), the car is able to break sharply(0.36) and baby pulling the break and showing the car panel(0:37-0:38) etc in the commercial.

    I personally find that the commercial is useful as it actually persuades the audience. It is very captivating too, although children might misunderstand that children can also drive. However, if their parents educate them and explains to them, it would not be a huge problem.

    3.This media is trying to attract me to buy the the car as shown in the advertisement.
    4.I think this is for people who are interested in buying car as this video showed that even kids love the car and so to create an effect on wat a good car it is.

  10. Probaly,moviemaker is use to produce the short clip,photoshop,to make it look like the infant is driving the car in the clip,video cameras to take the video of the car and the infant and a audio recorder to record and play the backgroung music during the clip.
    Techingues use for the clip is,firstly the bright colour,as this is to show that the clip is a 'happy' and 'cheerful' clip full of bright colours.Cute characters like the baby is also use to attract people who likes babies and is attracted when they see the clip.The baby is also use in another way too.It is also use as a methapor as in saying that the car is easy to drive.Why I say that?It is because usually a baby is pictured as very helpless as they are only a baby and what else could they do?So,by showing that the baby can drive the car,means that the car is super easy to drive,as a samll helpless baby can also drive it.Why not you?Another techique is the size,the small size of the baby is use,which helps to highlight the car.The song in the the clip also helps the clip, as the song is very 'happy' making you feel happy and wanting to buy the car.
    The purpose of this clip is very simple,it is for people to buy the car.I think this video is intended for the new and young generaton.As in the video, at the last part it said the'next generation ....'.so when it said the next generation it means to tell the people that if you are part of the new and young generation,you should buy this car.Another reason why i think it it for the young generation, it is because the clip shows the boy picking up a samll baby girl when driving the car.It also showed that the boy and the girl who was sitting in the car both were laughing happily.the last part of the commercial shows thaT the young infant was surfing.this commercial is obvioulsly trying to sell the car to the young generation,as it is trying to tell them that if you buy this car, girls will obviously love you, because in the commercial the girl and boy was smilling happily in the car.it also trying to tell them that if you have that car you would be very cool,as at the last part the boy was seen surfing,and surfing seems to be very'cool'.
    I think the video is not very effective as I think it conveys wrong values to children.It is because children looking at this clip might think that they can really drive a car.They might do dangerous stuns while their parents are gone.they might actually even try to drive a car.

    2)The colours are bright and the sound sounds interesting. This lets the viewer know that it is going to be a humourous advertisement. The baby is always zoomed in when in the car to tell us wat is happening in the video.

The director probably used cameras to video shoot the child inside the car driving all the way to somewhere at a beach with a girl , photoshop to destory something not appealing to the advertisement which is in the way , sound recorder to record the sound the kids and the how the car moves... making the swift sound of the car. they used the appropriate sound for the advertisement to show how good the car is. They used some editting softwares to make the child move to lively and show how the child can easily drive the hyundai car to anywhere he wants to go and even can fetch people out in the road. They used some video editing software to cut out some non- appealling stuff away from the video and make everything short and sweet.

    2. The director easily made use of the bright colours to make everything attractive to attract people to buy and see how good the car is and probably effected how we feel about the hyundai car.The size of the images in the video is very appropriate as they all fit in the video so that it makes everything look real and how easy it is to drive a hyundai car, even a small little child can do it.
    They even used creative languages to tell us how attractive and how good the hyundai car is and made us feel like buying the car cause of its creative sentences and speech that affected our thinking which is a very good technique. They know how to choose and use the characters usefully in the video to make us open our eyes wide and see how fantastic this car can be and it makes it cute for a kid to drive a car which is almost impossible.

    3. It is a very simple question. As you can see, the Hyundai car is the main point in video. Thus, the purpose of this video is to try selling the Hyundai car.

    4. I think this video is intended for the next younger generation.This because in the video, it shows how fast and how swift the car can break in time to fetch a kid out of no where.It shows how good the car can be and even a kid can drive it simply with the components of the Hyundai car. Theres a slogan at the end of the video , making us think that young people should buy this car and have a better life with it.

    5. I think this video is not very effective as it shows danger of kid driving in this car. They should not have used the small child as it might convey the wrong message for younger children watching this advertisements. Not only that, the children would do something out of extraordinary from what they have learnt in the video which is very dangerous. They should have used a young adult instead of some small kids.

  14. 1) The equipments used in this video are high quality video cameras,editing softwares,photoshop softwares and green screen effects.

    2)In the comercial, they never use any dialogue.This shows that you do not need dialogues to convey a message.They use baby in the commercial to grab the attention of the viewers.This will grab the attention of the viewers as babies are cute and for this commercial they use babies to make look it funny.It is funny and ironic at the same time to see a baby driving a car and letting a female baby in the car and this female baby was holding a card which says that she needs to go somewhere.The size of the baby and the car really shows a comparison as this will create the effect that who is driving the car and when you look closely,you will be suprised to see a baby driving.

    3)This commercial is trying to persuade the viewers to buy the new "Hyundai Santa Fe".

    4)This video is for adults who loves to drives in extreme condition like the desert.This is also for people with a big family as the car shown in the commercial is big.

    5)I don't really think this video is effective enough to persuade the viewers to but this car.The video does not really show how good the car is.It does not show the quality of the car.Even though they use special effects to make it look like the baby is driving,it is quite dangerous to young kids.They might feel jealous.They might think that its not fair that a baby can drive and that they can't drive.So it it not really an impressive or a very good commercial.I would give 2 out of 5 stars for this commercial.

  15. I think that Photoshop is used in this video to make/edit how the baby drives the car, how the baby gets out of the bed, getting the car keys etc. There are also music effects because they play it to make the advertisement more attracting.

    They used a baby in this advertisement to attract the viewers. The colours used in the advertisement are very bright at the part where the sun set of the beach was shown. The size between the car and the baby was just nice, they did not show a big image of the car and small for the baby or even the other way round.

    The purpose of this video is to ask the people to buy this car. I think that this video is intended for young people who are trying to find a car that is suitable for them. At the end of the video, it says “young generation”… I think that the young generation means that it is trying to promote to the people who are of the new and young generation. I think that this video is intended to boys who have girlfriends because at one part where it shows that there is a little girl saying that she wanted to go to West Coast, the boy send her there. When the girl was in the car, the little girl was smiling happily and seemed that she liked the car very much. This can show that if any girl takes the Hyundai girl, they would love it very much.

    I think that the video is half effective and half ineffective. It is effective because the video uses baby to be in the video to make the video lively and make the viewers want to continue watching the video. They used the baby in the advertisement to tell the viewers that even babies can even drive the car without any knowledge or passing the test to get a license. This shows that the Hyundai car is very easy to drive without using much effort to drive since the baby do not need any knowledge to know how to drive the car. This video is also ineffective because the babies may watch this video and think that they really can drive a car, but actually they could not. I think that parents should educate their children that they cannot drive the car on their own.

  16. 1. I think that the equipment used to produce this media is Camera, Photoshop and Audio effects. The Camera is used to video the whole advertisement. Photoshop to edit and add effect to the whole video to make it more interesting thus attracting more people to watch. Audio effects are also used to produce this media, every movement of the child is closely related to the music, like when they showed the scene of the child driving a car, they use music that make us feel ironic.

    2. The techniques used to produce this video are colours, sizes and the character. The colours are bright thus we will think that this is more to a more happy, funny video, thus we would like to continued watching the video to see what is happening. At the very end of the video, when the child was driving the girl to “West Coast” in his car, the car was taken sideway, thus, the car looked a lot bigger than the child, so we will know that we should focus on the car and not the child. The brand of the car is also placed bigger than the websites, so we will focus more on it, thus remember the brand then next time when buying car we will immediately recognized this brand, then we will buy the car, with the brand we can then go online search for their website. the character is also a very important techniques, they used a baby, to make us attract to this video, as baby is very cute and making us curious as a baby is small and they can’t do a lot of things that adult can do. While the baby actually drive the car in this advisement, thus we will feel that even a baby can drive a car, so this car must be very easy to drive, thus we would like to buy the car.

    3. The purpose of this video is to attract more people to buy the car that is advertise, Hyundai Santa Fe.

I think this video is intended for the young generation, as in the last part of the video, they said” the new generate….”, thus we can conclude that this video is intended for the young generation. I think this video is also intended for the adult, as in the video the male baby is actually driving the female baby to where she wanted to go, thus it is more to a boy-girl relationship, and thus this video is intended for the adult. It is also video is intended for people who wanted to travel by car to beach, as in the video they show that the car can actually travel on sand, this video is intended for people who wanted to travel by car to beach.

    5. I think that this video is effective to a certain extent. The video is effective as it did show information about the car like the car can go to beach, how the car looked. On the others hand, I think that people might mistook the baby the things that is being advertise in this video rather than the car, as the video mostly focus on the baby, until the last part of the video when they zoom out showing both the car and the child and when the brand is showed. Therefore, I think that this video is effective to a certain extent. Yes, there are dangers when this video is broadcasted to the public, s they showed a baby driving a car by himself, young children might misunderstand the video and worst, learn from the baby, drive a car by themselves, thus I think that there are dangers when this video is broadcasted to the public.

  17. 1)The equipments are, Camera, Audio Effects and Photoshop.
    Camera - The baby can't possibly drive a car. So th camera is to take the Advertisement with the baby in the car and make it looks like the baby is really driving the car.
    Audio Effects - It is to portray whether the advertisement is a happy one or a moody one.
    Photoshop - During the filming..i do not think that the car is as shiny as it is in real life. So they used photoshop to make the car looked more shiny in the advertisement.

    2) The techniques are, Colours and creative ideas.
    Colours - they used bright colours to let the viewers know that this advertisement is a happy one.
    Crative Ideas - Instead of an adult driving, they used a baby to replace the adult.

    3) This advertisement tells us that the car is suitable for anyone. Be it adult, elderly, babies, toddlers (Families)

    4) The advertisement is for people looking for a car for their own families. Because, the car is big and also comfortable.
    Comfortable because, even a baby would like to sit in the car. And. "The next generation" shows that this advertisement is advertising the car for the youngsters..as well as the people with families.

    5)I think the advertisement is effective to an extend. I don't think its fully effective because, this advertisement would let children misunderstand that they can drive a car. And if the children are really too naive to understand, they might actually do what the baby in the advertisement, it would bring danger to the baby. I think the advertisement is effective to an extend because, the advertisement shows the baby having fun in/with the car, therefore viewers would think that the car is comfortable for a family.

  18. 1)The equipments used to produce this media are Cameras, Photoshop ,Video editing software and Audio recording equipment. With that , we can film the whole video using the cameras. We can use photoshop to edit the images of the kids in the video , making them look better . The Video editing software also help to edit the video. So that there will not be any unnecessary parts or we can also add in some effects to the video using the Video editing software. While the Audio recording helps to record the sound to make the video more interesting.
    2) One of the techniques are used to produce this video is colour. From this video we can tell that it is a happy and some enjoyable events that is happening. This is because of the background of colour which is bright . This give us the impression that something good is happening. They also used the characters as one of the techniques in the video. As we all know that toddlers or young kids do not know how to drive, but yet the toddler in the video is driving all by himself. The toddler also climbed out from the bed just to drive the car and then a girl. Not only that the toddler was also driving as if nothing had happened, he even waved to an adult who was carrying a child too. Actually from the side of the view , we can see that the car bound a bit when it turn. They might want to show as that the car has good qualities. So that we can focus on the car . They also used creative languages like the " For the next generation.." This shows that the car is advance for the young generation. The size of the word "HYUNDAI" was not too small or too big , but was big enough for the viewers to notice the brand of the car.
    3) The purpose of the video was trying to attract and promoto the "Hyundai Santa Fe" but also telling us that , the car has good qualities and was advance for the new generations.
    4) I think the video was intend for young generations . At the end of the video they got tell the viewers " For the next generations ..." From this we can tell that it is actually for the young people. They also used toddlers to advertise this video shows that young people like toddlers can even drive the car. Adults who were supposed to drive the car did not appear in the video. This means that the video is actually intend for the young generations or the next generation. The video also intend for the people who like to travel or drive on sand. The video shows the toddler driving on the sand. Which means the car can drive safely on sand and travels.
    5) The video is not really effective but also dangerous. It is effective in the way that it attracted my attention to watch the video. It also bring out the brand of the car , some informations and also the image of the car. It is not really effective beacause we did not see the focus on the car instead they advertised more on baby than the car. If we did not interpret the video properly, we might misunderstood. Not really know what the video is trying to tell us. There is also no sense of reality. The toddler can drive the car , it is obivously not true. So we were not able to convince to buy the car.Cause there is no reality.
    It is dangerous if the video is broadcast to the public. Cause some people will follow and allow their young children to drive the car by their own. This might cause serious accidents.

  21. 1)In my opinion, the equipment used to produce an advertisement is a video camera, window movie maker, adobe photoshop and sound recorder. A video camera is basically used to capture parts of the scenes to make a full 1 minute advertisement. The window movie maker is to edit or cut away some parts of the scene that they do not want. It is also to add some cool effects and nice background music. The adobe photoshop is to edit the picture/ scene that were not perfect/clear (eg. "clearing" away the saliva on the baby's mouth). The sound recorder is used here for the sound effect of the baby's laughter at some part of a point. It could also add the speech that they want to say at some point and record it down before putting it into the advertisement.

    2)They used bright colours to make create a happy mood in this advertisement. These will attract young children to watch this advertisement. They try capture the scene of the mask and seats of the car, hence, the car looks big in almost every part of the scene. They are trying to show us the quality of the car at the same time, the baby is there to 'entertain' us. The background music is a happy song, which makes us a feeling that if we have brought that Hyundai car, we will be happy too. There is also a irony in this advertisement, is that, baby could drive a car. It shows the audiences that Hyundai is car which even young kids or children who do not know how to drive a car, likes Hyundai car. It will gives us a special feeling Hyundai would brings us happiness in our life.

    3)This purpose of making this video is to promote Hyundai by showing the good qualities of the car and how people views/likes about their cars. The company is trying to attract us to buy their cars.

    4)This video is trying to attract adults who knows how to drive and those who are intending to buy a car for themselves. It could also be some parents who have children, and after seeing how happy the baby is in the car, they might consider buying it.

    5)I think that this advertisement will not be effective. As my point of view, if I really want to buy a car for myself, I will look for this car qualities than some "untrue facts". It may be true that children loves the car, but it might not happen to everybody. So they cannot prove with just this advertisement that mostly all children loves this type of car. Second, this advertisement does not look like it have mention anything good or special about their cars. All they did was to entertain us with the baby driving a car, which would not happen in reality. It feels strange to the buyer when they are considering buying the car. Also, It might be 'dangerous' to young kids who have not been mature. They might think in another way that 'young kids looks cool when driving in car' or 'taking our parents things/stuffs without their permission may not be a bad thing'. So, I recommend all the parents who have children watching these kinds of videos, they should explain clearly so that the babies will not misunderstood and did something wrong.

    1) I think the equipment used to produce this commercial are Movie maker and Photoshop. Moviemaker is used to create the video while Photoshop is used to edit it. E.g. how the baby is able to drive the car and how it climbs out of the bed.

    2) The colours used in this video are bright. Thus, it creates and expresses a happy mood. The songs/music used in this video sounds cheerful, which contributes to the happy & excited mood.


    3) The purpose of this video is to advertise and persuade people/customers to buy this model of car called the Hyundai Santa Fe.

    4) I think this video is intended for people who are in the younger generation. This car is fast and swift and many people in the younger generation like cars like that.

    5) I think that this video is quite effective as it is quite captivating and interesting. It also sends the message very clearly that this car is fast. I think the equipment used are sound recorders (to record audio for the video), video editing softwares (to edit or cut away parts not needed in the video), Photoshop (to edit certain parts of the video to make it look like the way they want it to look) and video cameras (to record the video).

    2. Bright colours are used in the video to attract people to watch it and it creates a happy mood which makes the viewers feel happy and maybe consider buying the product. The baby is used to show viewers that the car is so easy to drive that even a baby can drive it. Towards the end of the video, a voice says, "The next generation, Hyundai Santa Fe is here." The baby could have been used to show viewers that the car is a newer type of car, because babies are also considered the next generation. The babies in the video could also have been used to show how big the size difference was, or how big the car was compared to the babies.

    3. The video is trying to promote and to attract people to buy their new type of car, which is supposed to be better and newer since they said that it was a new generation.

    4. I think this video is intended more for adults because only they are at a legal age to drive, and if they have a big family, they might consider buying the car because the picture shows that the car is very big. If they also have young children/babies, they might also want to buy the car because the babies in the video look like they enjoy being in the car so parents who want to make their children happy can buy it.

    5. I think that the video is quite effective, but not very good at the same time. The video is quite effective because the car really looks very easy, fast and smooth to drive. But I think it's also not very good because it's very unrealistic as everybody knows that we cannot drive cars at such a young age. It is dangerous if the video is broadcasted to the public because if young children/toddlers watch the video, they might get influenced by it and really try to drive their parent's car.

    Media Equipments –
    Basically, after watching this ironic video, there seemed to be lots of media equipments used.
    Firstly, the most basic media equipment used is a video camera. The producer uses it as it can capture the area whereby he wants the video to filmed and recorded, hence, creating it into a short commercial.
    Next, the producer would most possibly use a tripod stand, supporting a camera. The tripod stand is used as the directors, producers, would most definitely not be able hold and support the camera with their bare hands; they need structural support from the tripod stand because when they are holding the camera while recording, most humans tend to shake their hands uncontrollably by human nature. Therefore, a tripod stand is a necessity for making a video.
    After that, Adobe PhotoShop would be part of this clip. When we see a baby driving a car, or even surfing, we would know that these parts of the video are being photoshoped. Adobe PhotoShop allows us to create special effects from an original piece of work, editing them with different functions; hence, these parts of the clip were being remade with interesting effects from the pictures and movements we see in it.
    Sound effects are also used to enhance sounds in the clip and used to make it livelier, attractive to viewers.
    Lastly, a computer is also made use of in this video. The computer plays a part by storing information such as the original video clip that was captured by the camera into the desktop, documents, etc. and saves it to be edited afterwards.

    Techniques –
    The first technique is colour. The producer filmed this commercial in bright places and conditions such as the time of the day, whether it is morning or at night, and the places such as a child’s bedroom. A child’s bedroom is usually decorated in such a way that is bright and lively so that the child would be able to think positively hence making him happier. Next would be the opened space of the road. It would be bright with the vast amount of sunlight casted down from the sky, hence also turning the commercial into a brighter scene for filming. Last of all is the beach. As we all know, sand is made of a brighter colour and so is the sea, when light reflects down on them. Thus, this shows that the scenes taking place in this commercial are lively and would eventually grasp the attention of the viewers as the viewers would think of positive happenings in the later part of the video and would be merrier.
    The next technique would be the size of the product in the commercial. People tend to be attracted to big and large things as they usually seem to be more grand and expensive, such as the huge car in the commercial. Thus, people would feel very impressed with this car if they have ever bought it.
    Lastly, the technique would be the displaying the good qualities of the product/vehicle. The commercial showed us that the vehicle had lots of good qualities such as being spacious. When the baby girl sat at the rear of the car watching the baby boy surfing at the ending part of the commercial, the space was shown to contain plenty of space. Hence, viewers might think this is a very good advantage of the car.

    Purpose of the commercial –
    The purpose of this commercial is basically trying to sell its main product, a Hyundai car brand, by attracting us with good qualities and advantages of it.

    Video intended for –
    As we look deeper into this commercial, there is a catchy phrase that tells us which group of human population is intended for. It is, “The next generation Hyundai Santifae is here.” Generation refers to an era whereby a range of different aged people are being borne. Hence, “the next generation” refers to a future group of people that can also be able to witness and try out this vehicle, telling us a wide range of people from different ages would be able to experience the usage of this vehicle.

    Values that the commercial is conveying –
    In my opinion, I feel that this commercial might and might not be affective to viewers of all ages.
    Firstly, this commercial is affective as it showcased a child prodigy being able to drive a car at such a young age, and this tells us that adults who cannot drive are somewhat being ‘discriminated’ by the fact that a person of a very large and young age gap could easily do something that they(the adults) cannot achieve.
    Next, this commercial is not effective as it does not list out the price of the car, whether it is really expensive or cheap. Hence, viewers might not be impressed as they were being shown the one of the key factors – the pricing, as a result, they might not want to buy the vehicle.
    Lastly, there are quite a number of dangers when this commercial is being broadcasted to the public.
    When children who watch television programmes/commercials frequently see the child prodigy being able to drive a car at such a young age, he might leave a negative impact on those children as they would most possibly follow his actions and sometimes might even try out driving a car themselves, which afterwards lead to road accidents, etc.
    Next, when this commercial is shown to parents who have children, they might not be very impressed with it as it shows an irony of a child driving a car at a very young age, and the parents would think that his actions are not acceptable and the producer of the commercial could have overreacted and exaggerated the act of compiling a video whereby a child could be able to drive a car so well.

  27. 1)For all videos a video recorder is no doubt a must, along with sound recorders, and video editing softwares to change the videos to the director's prefrences.A humble video recorder can work its life span of nearly a few 1000 hours to make a movie, so its not impossible that this ad could take along time as this may need all the elements to be in place at the right time. A sound recorder is used to pick up the sounds or ambient noises during the video shoot. A video editing software may include adobe premier or adobeafter effects to touch up on certain parts of the video (lighting) or to create new effects that were not possible on the shooting. They would also have a rich sound bank to hold many music files to give this video its music, as people generally are attracted to both visual or listening media.

    2) Generally lighting plays a big part in this ad, the adverisers, chooses to use a toddler as the "main character" this gives the impression to the viewers that the toddler is very innocent, so they have to use colours that depict this trait they wish the viewers to capture in their minds, dull colours may not have such a big impact compared to this bright colours as babies are lively and using dull colours makes us "feel restricted" when using their car as babies a symbol of vitality should be able to use it to make it seem very powerful or at least, not stopping you from the power. Next is the size of the video or atleast the proportions of the video, using a big 3.5 litre v6 would deem the huge power the car has, however using babies as a medium for them is trying to say that even a small cute baby has the ability to control this menacing beast, and heartens all stereotyped drivers (woman in particular) also in another way its trying to say that this car is so easy that even a baby can drive it. (Figure of speach, its so easy that a baby could do it). The creative technique here was to use babies to highlight the good part of the vehicle to the public, using an adult could possibly not have such a big impact as generally humans tend to be picky the older they grow, so imagine putting jeremy clarkson inside is equivalent of putting a tiger into a chicken's pen. They had to use something else, someone who cant speak, someone so plainfully simpleminded that no critics (well most,) could'nt hurl sarcastic remarks about the "lemoness"(sourness) of the car! They had to use a baby. The baby oh so innocent and pure could'nt possibly backstab the advertisers and contridict the statement in the video...

  28. 3) This video is intended to sell this car. They used creative means of pushing forward their product like in this ad using babies. I feel that the advertisers are like making an "unwritten claim" of like saying "Alright i had enough bad reviews of you people and now i shall disgrace you by making a baby cruise through with ease." This may not seem to be a huge problem for many but however it is a form of anger and also a response to the public. (who may or may not have complained abou their product.) This car was not that bad I think as it tried to prove its worth by travelling from a small city suburbs to a huge city and then cruise the high way to the west coast, this is a way people wants to use visual media to potray its "milage" even though we know its not possible and its ability to stay offroad on sands which we know are not supposed to be driven on (seriously would anyone in real life get a permission to drive on a beach for free?) However the advertisers wants to push their ingenuity in car making and hide all posible flaws and loopholes, I do have to disagree with many of the others on the term "the next generation hyundai santa fe etc.." The santa fe is a SUV/Wagon this means it does not only refer to the newer generation living in the urban jungle, what the advertisers might say is " Hey people, its new generation means better specs and better power and better price!" So adults alike (in their 50s) may want to feel the wind brush past their hair cruising along a t 70km/h on a deserted highway 21, where they get to live their childhood dreams of being a speed demon and yet tied down to the reality of work and income in their younger self. So you see its like bridging everyone to get this car, regardless woman drivers(Potrayed by baby as being simple...) and Male drivers(More Milage = Better worth?) and People, young at heart (Offroad capabilities, = a good day to go fishing 200miles away from here)

    How i feel about this ad.
    Firstlty not really a korean car guy, so i may lay back on the criticism the santa fe originally had and based it purely on this ad. I don't think the advertisers has really put alot of thought into making this one, yes they thought of it to block out criticism (in one way or another) but do you think that the advertisers have proved their effort? After all santa fe is known for its ability to mix comfort with space.. yet in the boot it just shows a girl sitting there. I think this bit and of course the babies iconic smile needs to be tweaked abit, does smiling bring you true happiness? or a false hope created to dissapoint people in the future. Next is the improper values it has brought to our society. Babies driving, sure, i know its your scheme/idea however the kids absorb anything they get from the TV, they learn things fastest from age 3-7 they will, drive the car (if possible) just to immitate that kid. Also some food for thought, will the dumb lead to more dumb(s)? Will the legal drinking age drop, will we be able to vote at 12 and heck, can we buy a house without having reach 21? All these factors maybe irrelevant, however if you look at the big picture, it shows us just how crooked society is today. And thus not bringing proper social morals to the children of tomorrow!

In the process of making this clip , Movie maker ,sound recorder ,photoshop and video cameras are used to create this clip.Video cmaera is used to film the small kids sitting in the car and photoshop is used to edited the part that the small kid was driving as in reality young kids can't drive so they need to used the photoshop to edit the clip to show that the young kid is driving.
    They used bright colours to attract people to watch the clip . They used white colour for the background as it is very bright and people would be attracted by it.They also used baby and small kids in this clip as they are more cuter than adults and this would also attract others to view the clip.
    I think this clip is trying to sell cars as they make the clip of children driving the car.
    i think that this clip is for parents. In the clip , the young kid is driving the car and this shows that children would like that cars very much and ask those parents to buy as their children would enjoy takin car ride.
    I think this clip is not very effective as it show the kid driving hthe car and it might convey a wrong message to others that it is safe for young kids to drive a car and therefore this clip is not very effective.

    2)The colour of the advertisement is bright enough to create some sort of a "happy" feel. The music they use fits in nicely. I'm not so sure about the infant riding the car though, it doesn't seem realistic at all.

    3)The advertisement is trying to sell the car by showing how easy it is to drive, probably for those who had just passed their driving test. It's also good enough to bring a big family to the beach from what it looks from the size of the car.

    4)The video is definately made for adults and not for infants (although it seemed like it is) which is dumb. I can infer that because only people 21 or above can drive cars. And people 21 years or older is considered an adult.

    5)I think this video is a total disaster. It's trying to tell us that it's alright for an toddler to drive a car. Imagine a toddler with VERY high IQ, who remembers where the parents place the key and smart enough to drive it. Some stupid teenagers might even think its fun and try doing it since the video shows that even a small baby could drive a car.
    The video doesn't sell the car. I from the begginning of this video I thought it was some high HDA and Omega 3 milk powder. I even got confused and halfway through I stopped and restarted the video.
    The video is not memorable at all. I see no sense in it. To me this is crap.

But stuff like voice capturing mikes are not use as they did not use a real backgroung audio piece instead used a piece of music thats why we need a singer and a recording studio for him!

This technique is used to grab the attention of viewers as it is something unusal when compared daily cars on the streets.     5.in my opinion,the video is showing good yet bad values to its viewers.the good values are that the car is a good brand with a good model and facilities.the bad value is that,it shows a TODDLER driving a car.who is to say that the younger generation will not get the idea of buyng a car and driving of with it?it is very possible for a child to see the video and grab the idea of gettign into a car.therefore,the video is not recommended for the young generation.areas to improve are the use of toddler actors for adult commercials.
